SSC officially specifies signature dimensions in centimetres (cm) in their notification PDFs — pixel values are widely-accepted approximations. Photo physical size is approx 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm for all exams. Signature width has varied between 4.0 cm (e.g. CHSL 2024, CPO 2024) and 6.0 cm (e.g. CGL 2024, CHSL 2025, Steno 2024). Always verify your specific notification PDF at ssc.gov.in.
| Exam | Photo (px approx) | Photo KB | Signature (Official cm) | Sig (px approx) | Sig KB | Format |

| SSC CGL | ~275 × 354 px | 20 – 50 KB | 6.0 × 2.0 cm (CGL 2024) | ~210 × 60 px | 10 – 20 KB | JPG |
| SSC CHSL | ~200 × 240 px | 20 – 50 KB | 6.0 × 2.0 cm (CHSL 2025) / 4.0 × 2.0 cm (CHSL 2024) | ~210 × 60 px | 10 – 20 KB | JPG |
| SSC GD Constable | ~200 × 240 px | 20 – 50 KB | 4.0 × 2.0 cm | ~140 × 60 px | 10 – 20 KB | JPG |

SSC portals validate three things automatically: pixel dimensions (aspect ratio check), file size in kilobytes, and file format. If any parameter is outside the accepted range, your upload will fail immediately.
For photos, all SSC exams use a passport-style format (~3.5 × 4.5 cm). Pixel approximations of ~275×354 for CGL and ~200×240 for other exams are widely portal-accepted. For signatures, the key difference is width: CGL 2024, CHSL 2025, and Stenographer 2024 specify 6.0 cm (~210×60 px), while CPO 2024 and CHSL 2024 used 4.0 cm (~140×60 px). Our tool preloads the latest known value per exam — always confirm with your own notification PDF.
FataFatResize.in's SSC Photo Tool is a free, browser-based utility built specifically for candidates applying to SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, CPO, Stenographer, and Junior Engineer exams. It combines two essential functions — photo and signature resizing and name and date of photo (DOP) overlay — into a single page so you never have to switch between multiple tools or download any software.
Thousands of SSC applicants visit photo studios and pay for professional edits, only to discover that the studio-edited image still fails portal validation because the pixel dimensions or file size don't match SSC's specifications. This tool was built to solve that exact problem — for free, instantly, and without exposing your private photo to any third-party server.
Upload your photo, select your exam, and download a perfectly resized image in under 3 seconds. No loading spinners, no server queues — everything happens immediately on your device.
All image processing uses the HTML5 Canvas API directly in your browser. Your photo never travels to any server. You can even turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads — the tool continues to work perfectly offline.
No subscription, no watermark on your output, no hidden charges, no login required. Process unlimited photos across all SSC exams for free — forever.
Need a custom pixel size? Override any exam preset with your own dimensions. Choose any target file size from 10 KB to 500 KB. Adjust quality and zoom independently for perfect framing.
Upload PNG, WEBP, HEIC, or any common format — the tool automatically converts it to JPG, which is the only format SSC portals accept. Transparent backgrounds are filled with white automatically.
Fully responsive design — works seamlessly on your smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. No app installation required. Works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
This tool was designed with a very specific set of users in mind. If you belong to any of the categories below, this tool will save you time, money, and the stress of a rejected application.
SSC CGL uses ~275×354 px for photo and a 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm (~210×60 px) signature per the CGL 2024 notification. Our tool auto-loads these specs the moment you select CGL. Always verify with your specific notification PDF from ssc.gov.in.
These exams share the ~200×240 px photo format. Signature width has varied — CHSL 2025 specifies 6.0 cm while CHSL 2024 used 4.0 cm. Select your specific exam to load the latest known preset, and confirm your own notification PDF.
GD Constable applications often require both a correctly sized passport photo and a DOP (Date of Photo) overlay. Use the Image Resizer tab for size, then the Add Name & Date tab for the DOP — both in one session.
Exams like Agniveer Vayu, SSB, CISF, and state police recruitments require a "slate photo" — a passport photo with the candidate's name and date written below. Our DOP tab handles this automatically with a white background strip.
Applying for CGL and CHSL simultaneously? Switch between exam presets in seconds without re-uploading your original photo — the tool remembers everything until you reset.
Applying from home using a mobile phone camera photo? No problem. Upload your raw mobile photo, use the Zoom slider to crop and frame your face correctly, select the target KB, and download a studio-quality result.
No technical knowledge is needed. Follow these steps and your photo will be exam-ready in under a minute.
Click on your exam from the pill buttons — CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD, CPO, Steno, or JE. The tool immediately displays the correct photo dimensions, signature dimensions, and file size range for that specific exam.
Click either the "Photo" card or the "Signature" card. For example, CGL Photo shows ~275×354 px at 20–50 KB, while CGL Signature shows ~210×60 px (6.0 cm × 2.0 cm) at 10–20 KB. Both types are processed with a white background fill.
Choose a KB target from the size pills (10 KB, 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, or Auto). For most SSC photo uploads, select 20 KB or 50 KB. The tool automatically adjusts JPEG quality to bring your file within the selected limit.
Click the upload zone or drag and drop your image file. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, HEIC (iPhone photos), and WEBP. The original file size and the compressed output size are both shown in real time.
Use the Quality slider to manually control compression (1–100%) and the Zoom slider to crop or reframe your face. When satisfied with the preview, click the green Download button.
Click the second tab button at the top. This tab adds candidate name and Date of Photo (DOP) onto your passport photograph. No exam selection is needed here — the overlay works for any exam.
Type your full candidate name (optional). Select your photo date using the date picker. The tool automatically converts it to DD-MM-YYYY format. Your name is automatically uppercased regardless of how you type it.
The White Background Strip toggle is enabled by default and should stay that way. It adds a solid white panel at the bottom where text is printed — ensuring it's 100% readable regardless of clothing color.
Upload your passport photo — the live canvas preview shows exactly how the final image will look. Click the Download button to save the DOP-annotated photo. If the portal requires a specific file size, bring this downloaded file into the Image Resizer tab to compress it further.

Problem: Uploading a photo with the wrong aspect ratio or using the same photo file for multiple different exams when each has different requirements.
Fix: Always select your specific exam first — the tool auto-loads the correct dimensions. Use Custom Dimensions to override if needed.
Problem: Your studio photo is 2 MB but the portal maximum is 50 KB. The portal either rejects it outright or fails at form submission.
Fix: Select the "20 KB" or "50 KB" size pill. The tool automatically adjusts JPEG compression quality until the output file is within range.
Problem: iPhone photos save as HEIC. Screenshots save as PNG. SSC portals only accept JPG/JPEG format.
Fix: Simply upload any format — this tool converts everything to JPG automatically. PNG transparency is replaced with white.
Problem: Many SSC notifications specify the photograph must have been taken within the last 3 months.
Fix: Always use a recent photograph. Never enter a false date on the DOP — it is document fraud and grounds for disqualification.
Problem: Black text on dark clothing becomes completely invisible. Automated OCR systems fail to read it.
Fix: Always keep the "White Background Strip" toggle ON in the Add Name & Date tab.
Problem: Name on photo doesn't match Aadhaar, PAN card, or the application form — causing rejection during document verification.
Fix: Double-check your name against official identity documents before typing. The tool auto-converts to uppercase and updates the preview instantly.
Problem: SSC requires DD-MM-YYYY format. Formats like "Jan 15, 2026" or "2026-01-15" may not be recognized.
Fix: Use the built-in date picker — the tool automatically formats as DD-MM-YYYY and prefixes it with "DOP:".
Problem: Some portals enforce a minimum file size. A heavily compressed photo below 20 KB may be rejected as "low quality".
Fix: Don't use the '10 KB' target pill for photos — choose '20 KB' or '50 KB'. The Auto option finds an optimal balance without over-compressing.
All image processing — resizing, compression, format conversion, and DOP overlay — happens entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No processing occurs on any remote server.
After the page loads, not a single network request is made when you upload or process your photo. Open browser DevTools (F12) → Network tab → upload your photo and watch. Zero outgoing requests.
We have no database, no cloud storage, and no analytics that capture image content. When you close the browser tab, all image data is wiped from memory immediately.
Once the page has loaded, disconnect your internet connection completely. The tool continues to work without any interruption — the strongest proof that your photo data never leaves your device.
Your face should occupy approximately 50–70% of the total photo area. Use the Zoom slider in the Image Resizer to crop closer if needed.
SSC mandates a white or light-colored plain background. If your photo has a colored background, use a background removal tool first, then upload the PNG here for white background filling.
Most SSC notifications require photos without spectacles. Avoid caps, hats, and excessive jewelry. The face must be clearly visible from forehead to chin.
Ensure even, front-facing lighting with no harsh shadows. Maintain a neutral expression with mouth closed. Eyes should be open and looking directly at the camera.
Most SSC exams require photos taken within the last 3 to 6 months. Using an older photo can result in disqualification during document verification.
After resizing your digital photo, print 6–8 physical copies at a studio (passport size, 35mm×45mm) for document verification and other stages of recruitment.
